The Rhyme & Reason

It’s so funny how things can change so much over just a small period of time.  If you’ve been on this site before, you may have read that the idea for Tails came from a silly story about Dduger, the journal keeping dog!  Although I love Ddugs very much and I absolutely adore his stories, this blog has morphed into something much more over the last six months.

After adopting Daddy and Gustav, my life path has not only taken a turn, I experienced an “AhHa” moment and a light bulb lit up at the end of a dark tunnel.  Soon after bringing the boys home, the impact of what they brought with them began to affect my life, my choices and my future.   It became clear that adopting them just wasn’t enough.  I wanted to do more, and working with dogs, particularly rescue dogs, felt right.

My particular interest falls within the walls of the shelter, especially after spending time there.  Helping the ones that need it the most.  I have first-hand knowledge of the life adjustments  that you and your new friend have to make, and the patience in the training of a dog that has been scarred by past neglect, abuse or abandonment.  Incidentally, my rhyme and reason has drastically changed from my original idea.

After years of not knowing what to do with my life and always feeling unfulfilled in my work, I’ve finally found what I’m suppose to do.  I  want to be a voice for the ones who can’t speak.  I want to encourage, give hope to and make changes for the better for our four-legged friends.  At the same time, help the wonderful people who adopt smoothly transition into their new addition, as well as be a future go-to for any problems that may arise.

I don’t quite qualify for everything I want to do just yet, but have recently taken steps to correct that minuet fact. I am officially a student again, and I’m loving this time around.  If all goes well, in less than a year, I will have the knowledge and the know-how to move forward because THEY are now my Rhyme and my Reason!

I hope you stop by often and check out the Newly Adoptable, Ideas, Stories, Tips and all around Dog Stuff!!
